My name is Hugo Pyett and, with my professional, experienced, yet small team all your thatching needs are covered.

I work with both Wheat Straw and Water Reed and am dedicated to thatching in the traditional styles appropriate to the region. I do not believe in cutting corners on materials or quality, and all my work is to the highest standards.

My apprenticeship was a traditional apprenticeship with Mike Pawluk who I believe to have been one of the best thatchers in the South West. I am now fortunate to have taken on his 30 years of thatching experience as well as my own.

I am the contractor for the National Trust here in Cornwall, and have worked on numerous properties for them. You can rest assured my work will not disappoint. I also carry the relevant public liability insurance. I am also certified to spray Magma Firestop fire retardant to your finished roof. This is proven to give an 'A' rating for spread of flame, is environmentally safe for thatched roofs which is used throughout Europe, and can reduce insurance premiums.
